Shouldn’t car companies start their Martian vehicle programme for the first tourist on Mars?

Colonising Mars will need massive investment. One of the things that could fund it is tourism.

01

Who will go first?

The first travellers to Mars will be high-net-worth individuals. They will expect comfort, safety and luxury, an experience that feels premium, not mechanical.

Most space vehicles feel industrial and purely functional. Polestar is known for calm Scandinavian design. What if we took that to Mars?

Outside, the harshest place people will ever visit. Inside, calm.

Interior philosophy

Scandinavian calm, in an extreme environment.

Minimal but warm. Subtle luxury, never loud. Mars is harsh, so the vehicle has to steady people emotionally.

A luxury experience pod for Mars.

Designed around the passenger, not just the journey. A space where people feel safe, calm, comfortable and cared for.

One platform, two lives.

The same platform could build the colony and carry the tourists: cost-efficient, scalable, system-level thinking. We kept that as a quiet background layer, so the story stays about the human experience.

What I took away

This project was never really about Mars vehicles.

It is about how human experience, comfort and luxury evolve when we move beyond Earth.
